FOR THE GAMES FOR CHANGE 2025 COMPETITION

After Humanity's final war, Earth is completely desolate. 99% of life is gone, and all hope seems lost for Earth's 3 Billion year long life cycle. That is until you, Mother Nature, finally awakens from her half a billion year slumber, distraught from how the planet could have gotten to such a point. And once again, she revives the planet from a mass extinction and creates new life.

In this calming Forest Simulator, you:

Play as Mother Nature and revive earth to what it once was!
Create a system of trees that rely on each other to survive. No one said reviving earth would be easy though! Trees need water to survive, but it only rains every so often.
Adapt your forest to survive droughts. Some trees need more water than others, so balancing this forest becomes necessary.

Our goal for this game is to teach the player about nature's balance. We as a species have disrupted this balance which has led to the death of our planet. This game is all about making sure every single tree gets what it needs and doesn't take too much from the shared water that they all need to survive.

Additionally, we also want to teach the player about the forest itself and gamify how actual trees rely on each other to survive! Why do you think trees have been around for so long? It's because they have mastered the balance of nature.

Furthermore, we wanted to create a calm atmosphere similar to games like Stardew Valley, where there really is no way to lose. What matters is the journey and how you revive your forest and put yourself in Mother Nature's shoes for a change. The game only progresses when you want to progress, allowing you to take in the beauty and sounds of nature and think about what to do next.

Lastly, we wanted a character for our game that represents you, the player. Someone who is fearful of our future and allowing you as mother nature to make her feel better and a create a world she wants to live in. Her name is Nadia, and she is the last living human on earth. The more forest you make, the happier she gets.
